In May 2009 FULBECK acquired the OXYWAX sales of
HYPAX derivatives from Marshall Best, who remains as a
consultant. FULBECK (formerly as TECHWAX) had been
manufacturing the entire range of HYPAX derivatives for
almost 20 years. This meant there were no changes in materials,
quality or process control.
PRODUCTS
Oxidate is a synthetic fatty acid made by oxidizing petroleum
waxes and oil. These can be further reacted to give soaps
and esters which have specific properties.
Calcium soaps are highly resistant to moisture and acid
fumes. Examples include Hypax 450-18-50, a 70% active soap in white
spirits and Hypax TP10, a soap in mineral oil.
Amine and sodium soaps can be used to form emulsions.
Examples include Hypax TEA45 and Hypax SD40.
Esters made from oxidate (Either solid or liquid) can be
used to formulate thin, soft, water displacing films for use in
protecting mixed metals components. Examples include Hypax 450 HE
and Hypax 150HE.
Hypax Solcor is a fully water soluble inhibitor which
finds application in cutting fluids and aqueous systems.
